The project, aimed at facilitating social dialogue in the fields of wood and wood processing sectors, is to be completed by the end of 2020 and has already achieved results useful for companies and industry organizations in the timber industry. The promotion of circular economy activities is also within the scope of the project.

The theme of the seminar was "The labour market, production and management in the wood related sectors. Challenges in 2020".

He stressed that these sectors have a certain capacity for employment that has been achieved. Specific activities in the logging and wood processing require human strength. Some mechanization has been applied in these sectors in Bulgaria, but they have been poorly automated.

The challenges org the labour market in the current difficult year have also been discussed. The participants in the event – representatives of employers, trade unions and companies from the industry, discussed the expected changes in the woodworking sector. They relate mainly to the need to promote greener technologies, reuse of materials and re-processing of used products in order to achieve circular effect. Last but not least, the new skills that employers and employees need to prepare and promote in order to make a smooth change in the logging and woodprocessing sectors were also discussed.
